Naturalistic influenced borders, with grasses, tall herbaceous perennials, bulbs and shrubs. The garden entrance attempts to contain the wilderness a little with low box hedging and leads into a gravel garden overspilling with Phlomis, Cistus, catmint and roses. An elliptical lawn is bordered on the North – East facing wall with a semi successful version of a ‘white’ border - it’s more green than white at this time of year! The South East wall supports three heritage espalier apple trees and, in front of these, a small, but incredibly productive kitchen garden, worked on ‘no dig’ principles. Home made planters on the patio supplement the production of salad crops, and a greenhouse provides tomatoes and chillies. Newts and frogs co- exist in a small wildlife pond.
We hope you enjoy looking at our gardens.
